The Early Literacy Community Specialist position works to strengthen family capacity to support the birth of a four-year old's positive educational outcomes and build strong connections in the community. The position focuses on the key topic of early childhood education and managing projects that help improve the quality of life for parents and young children in the community.
This person will use their connections in the community to help create, deliver, and support projects that address issues related to early education and early brain development. The Early Literacy Community Specialist builds partnerships with the School District of Janesville and the community to prepare children from birth to age 4 to succeed in school and life by encouraging families to read, talk and play with their children every day.
This position works a 200-day calendar; school-year, plus schedule; 8.0 hours per day.
This position participates in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS).
