Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

What You'll Work On

This company performs a wide variety of heavy civil construction projects throughout Minnesota and North Dakota, including:

• Large-scale earthmoving and mass excavation
• Road and highway construction
• Underground utility installation
• Site development and commercial excavation
• Flood mitigation and water management projects
• Aggregate production and material operations
• Environmental and landfill construction projects

No two projects are exactly the same, providing plenty of variety and opportunities to expand your experience.

What You'll Do

• Oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects from start to finish.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for private and public sector customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to facilitate project activities. Maintain open communication and addressing concerns promptly.
• Maintain project documents, complete required forms, applications and permits. Including quantity tracking/verification and monthly pay applications.
• Monitor performance standards as it relates to our company's policy and contract specifications.
• Monitor and control project through directional guidance of on-site Supervisor to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
• Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
• Represent the company in project meetings.
• Generate submittals, Project specific plans.
• Work with Supervisors and GPS program to ensure quantity surveys for payment are accurate.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or other related degree (preferred)
• Construction Experience is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and construction scheduling software is a plus.
• Strong problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• Multi-tasking capability in a fast-paced work environment.
• Knowledge of project management practices.
