These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP). Qualifications:HS/GED Degree with minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in Incident Management on All-Hazard and/or Wildfire Incidents - Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
Duties:Support pre-event planning, coordination, and execution for complex planned events. Operate within the Incident Command System (ICS). Provide coaching and mentoring to priority trainees and developing personnel. Support continuity between planning and execution phases. Function in high-visibility, politically sensitive, multi-agency environments. - Pre-Event Planning and Post Event follow-up: Participate in advance planning meetings, site visits, and coordination calls. Assist with staffing models, contingency planning, and schedules. Support trainee integration into assignments. Provide administrative assistance as needed. 45%
- Event: Coordinate activities consistent with incident or event objectives. Coordinate closely with Planning, Logistics, Liaison, Safety, and Command staff. Identify emerging operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Submit Project Updates to team members. 45%
- Coaching & Mentorship: Coach and mentor trainees in leadership roles. Provide structured feedback and professional development support. 10%
Other:- Required Certifications: Individuals must be qualified and current in the position held as supported by an incident qualifications card issued by a recognized jurisdiction.
- Overnight travel: 2-4 round trips over the period of performance; up to 14 day trips
- Air travel anticipated: 2-4 round trips over the period of performance; up to 14 day trips.
- Required Safety Gear: During site visits, hardhat, hearing protection, gloves may be required to perform the duties of this position.
- Physical requirements: This position is performed in a mix of office and field or site-visit settings while supporting planning, coordination, and oversight activities. Office work is primarily sedentary. Field and site-visit activities may require a moderate level of physical activity, consistent with qualification requirements outlined in the DOI Incident Position Qualifications Guide (2023 version). The position requires the ability to work extended hours during peak operational periods, including up to 16-hour workdays for up to 14 consecutive days before a scheduled day off.
