Key Responsibilities
- Instruction & IEPs: Develop and implement IEPs, lesson plans, and instructional materials tailored to students' academic and functional needs.
- Behavioral Support: Implement Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS) and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Data Collection & Compliance: Monitor student progress, collect data on goals, and ensure all paperwork complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaboration: Work with general education teachers, support specialists, and parents, and lead IEP meetings.
- Supervision: Monitor students in the classroom and school environment (e.g., lunch, specials) and supervise EC Teacher Assistants.
- Certification: Valid licensure in Special Education (Exceptional Children).
- Physical Needs: Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and assist with student transfers/life functions (e.g., toileting).
- Skills: Proficient in data collection, behavioral intervention, and communicating effectively with families and staff.
- Resource/Inclusive: Provides specialized instruction to students in small groups or within the general education setting.
