A warm, professional couple based on the Upper East Side is seeking an experienced weekend nanny for their 16-month-old son.
The weekend will involve a combination of sole-charge and shared care. The parents have busy schedules and often have evening commitments, so the nanny should be comfortable independently managing the child’s daytime and evening routines, including meals, activities, naps and bedtime.
The anticipated schedule will be approximately 12 daytime hours on Friday and Saturday, with up to three additional hours of evening babysitting each day, plus approximately four hours on Sunday. The position will offer approximately 34 guaranteed hours per week. Private accommodation will be provided throughout the nanny’s working block.
This is a fully child-focused position with no general household cleaning required. The family is seeking someone calm, warm and caring who can provide dependable weekend support and accommodate occasional travel. The ideal candidate will respect the family’s privacy and personal space while becoming a consistent, long-term presence in their son’s life.
Responsibilities:
Manage the child’s daytime, evening and bedtime routines
Plan age-appropriate activities, classes, playdates and outings
Support the child’s developmental milestones through engaging play
Prepare and serve all meals and snacks for the child
Manage the child’s laundry and keep his clothing and wardrobe organized
Keep the nursery, play areas and child-related belongings tidy and organized
Coordinate with the weekday nanny to maintain consistency
Communicate openly with the parents regarding the child’s care and routine
Provide evening babysitting on Friday and Saturday
Travel with the family on occasional weekends
Qualifications:
Calm, warm and genuinely caring
Experienced and confident with toddlers
Knowledgeable about early childhood development
Flexible and comfortable with daytime and evening care
Proactive without feeling the need to keep the child constantly scheduled
Organized, reliable and able to work independently
Respectful of the family’s privacy and personal space
Collaborative and comfortable working with involved parents
Clear and professional communicator
Interested in a consistent, long-term weekend position
Requirements:
Minimum of five years of professional nanny experience
Recent experience caring for infants and toddlers
Excellent, verifiable professional references
Legally authorized to work in the United States
CPR and first-aid certification
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, if required
Salary and Benefits:
$35+ per hour, depending on experience
Approximately 34 guaranteed hours per week, with the potential for additional hours
