Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.\n \nSummary:\n \nPerformance of quality electrocardiograms on Medical Center patients on a routine and STAT nature. Also, to perform any necessary clerical or documentation function concerned with the recording or reporting of ECG results. The position actively supports the Hospital's and Department's Continuous Quality Improvement and customer service goals, individually and as an effective team member. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and ICARE values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.\n \nOther information:\n \nRequired Job Qualifications:\n\n High school diploma or equivalent. \n Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good typing skills. \n Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.\n Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and be able to maintain a high degree of professionalism while working in a high-volume, high-stress environment.\n Should have experience with computerized office systems, medical records documentation, patient confidentiality regulations, and medical terminology.\n \nPreferred Job qualifications:\n\n Some Anatomy / Physiology understanding\n Bilingual (English-Spanish) a plus.\n \nPhysical Demands:\n\n Position requires frequent bending, stooping, lifting, assisting patients onto x-ray table, pushing carts, gurneys, wheelchairs, large radiographic equipment and accessory equipment.\n Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted\n \nDisclaimer: The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements.\n \nResponsibilities:\n\n Perform routine and STAT electrocardiograms on geriatric, adult, pediatric and neonatal patients using a multi-channel ECG machine.\n Perform all necessary procedures to assure transmission of ECG data to the departmental data base system.\n Recognizes normal ECG tracings and some basic abnormalities.\n Recognizes common ECG artifacts and, when possible, corrects them. \n Understands the normal procedures on the patient care units and how they relate to the performance of ECG's.\n Contributes to the general operational needs of the department. \n Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor.\n Responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment and for the wellbeing and safety of the patients under their care as well as that of family members and/or visitors within the Diagnostic Services area.\n Report any incidents, accidents, or inconveniences involving patients to the Tech/Nurse on duty as well as the Department and be prepared to file a full and detailed incident report as needed. \n* Required adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet staffing needs as determined by the management team\n \nRush is an equal opportunity employer.
