Echo Sonographer

Lake Regional is looking for a Licensed Cardiac Sonographer who is responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound tests according to the physicians orders to perform echocardiograms to evaluate different aspects of the heart such as chamber size, valve function, and blood flow.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs all requested Ultrasound examinations as ordered by the attending physician, including transthoracic echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, stress tests, etc.
• Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required.
• Coordinates with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided.
• Addresses patient problems as they arise and makes decisions to appropriately resolve the issue.
• Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required.
• Assumes responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients in the ultrasound area.
• Reports equipment failure to the appropriate supervisor or staff member.
• Must be familiar with basic cardiac conditions in order to recognize and identify any abnormalities.
• Reviews patient files, schedules appointments, explains procedures to patients, and maintains equipment.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Annual influenza and COVID vaccines required.
• Active certification by ARDMS or RDCS.
• Current compliance with required Continuing Medical Education (CME).
