Connected Health Care, a leading healthcare recruitment and staffing firm, is partnering with a respected healthcare facility in San Jose, California, to hire an experienced Echo Sonographer (Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist) for a 13-week travel assignment. Position Overview
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist performs and records diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures. The Echo Sonographer obtains critical information regarding cardiovascular and thoracic anatomy, cardiovascular pathophysiology, hemodynamics, and blood flow abnormalities. This role requires a strong understanding of ultrasound physics, instrumentation, tissue characteristics, and cardiovascular diagnostics to ensure high-quality patient care and accurate diagnostic results.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic echocardiography studies on adult patients
- Acquire high-quality cardiac ultrasound images and Doppler studies
- Evaluate cardiovascular anatomy, cardiac function, hemodynamics, and blood flow abnormalities
- Recognize normal and abnormal cardiac structures and physiological conditions
- Ensure all echocardiographic examinations meet diagnostic quality standards
- Document and record accurate exam findings and patient information
- Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout procedures
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment according to manufacturer guidelines
- Follow facility policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
Equipment Utilized
- GE Vivid E95 Cardiac Ultrasound System
Education & Certification Requirements
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent Echo Sonography experience required
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic echocardiography procedures
- Excellent communication, technical, and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hospital or acute care experience
- Experience performing a variety of adult echocardiography studies
- Strong understanding of cardiac hemodynamics and Doppler imaging techniques
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
