Overview
Provides support to the Radiologic Technologist to ensure promptness and efficiency of the patient care process. Ensure patient comfort and safety during the radiological experience to include the film management process. Provides care to patients of all ages. Overview of the Program
The Memorial Horizons Program provides students enrolled in Radiography, Surgical Technology, and Sonography degree programs with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive financial support, and secure a pathway to employment at Memorial Health after graduation.
Eligibility Criteria
The Horizons Program is open to external candidates and current Memorial Health colleagues in the first year of their major program of study and will graduate in May 2027. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited allied health program that aligns with Memorial's workforce needs, maintain the minimum required GPA and have completed all prerequisite coursework. Applicants must complete an employment application and an interview as part of the competitive selection process. Individuals selected for the Horizons Program must maintain satisfactory academic progress, have no active corrective actions on file, and exhibit behaviors that align with Memorial's values to remain eligible.
Benefits of Working While In School
Individuals who are selected for the Horizons Program will work at Memorial Health as a per diem colleague while attending school. This allows participants to gain valuable hands-on experience, work alongside Memorial clinicians, and prepare them for their careers at Memorial after graduation.
Financial Opportunities
Individuals selected for the Horizons Program will receive a bi-weekly stipend of $1,000.00 during the second year of their program (August 2026-May 2027). Stipends are subject to applicable taxes and deductions. As a Memorial colleague who is working per diem while attending school, you may also be eligible for up to $5250 per calendar year in Tuition Assistance. In addition, individuals selected for the Horizons Program will be eligible for sign-on incentives at the time of graduation.
Pathway to Employment After Graduation
Graduates of the Horizons Program will be placed in full-time roles designated by Memorial Health upon meeting all graduation and licensing requirements. Participants must commit to working at Memorial Health for three years after graduation.

Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma required.
Must be going into 2nd year of Echo Program
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
Must maintain CPR certification.
Experience:
Clerical and computer experience preferred.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and guest relations skills required.
Responsibilities
Perform clerical duties necessary for patient registration
Transport patient to and from the radiology procedure room and transports inpatients to and from their hospital rooms.
Demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to provide care to a patient from any age group served in his/her assigned area
Provide patient and technologist assistance during the radiologic exam process

Ensure proper recording and transmission of patient information.
Prepare films for interpretation and complete the film management process as mandated by the department
Utilize proper infection control practice
Maintains an excellent guest relations rapport with patients, visitors, physicians and employees of Taylorville Memorial Hospital
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in area of assignment
Obtain pertinent medical historical information as well as other required data for pre-exam assessment
Assist with patient positioning and support equipment required for specific fluoroscopic procedures requested
Establish fundamental computer skills necessary to perform Computerized Radiography processes and procedures
Maintain adequate supply inventories in the diagnostic radiology rooms
Assist with data entry and departmental required paperwork
Supports department protocols for timely radiology report turnaround processes
Distributes patient reports to Medical Records, physician mailboxes and patient floors
Arranges self-directed learning and participates in continuing education on an annual basis
Promotes health and safety in the work environment
Actively participates in competency assessment process.
