Echo Technician (Cardiac Sonographer)

Location: Syracuse, New York 13210
Contract Length: 14 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Schedule: 5x8.5-Hour Shifts | Rotating Weekends & Holidays | No On-Call
Guaranteed Hours: 42.5 Hours/Week

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Echo Technician (Cardiac Sonographer) to join a leading acute care healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY. This position is ideal for a skilled cardiac imaging professional with expertise in echocardiography procedures and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient environments.

The Echo Technician will perform a wide range of diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures while collaborating closely with cardiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support accurate cardiac diagnosis and treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures including 2D and 3D echocardiograms
  • Conduct transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) studies
  • Perform stress echocardiograms, including exercise and pharmacologic stress testing
  • Assist with intra-procedural cardiac imaging in specialized cardiovascular settings
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound imaging equipment to ensure optimal image quality
  • Recognize and interpret EKG rhythms and cardiac abnormalities during procedures
  • Accurately document imaging findings and maintain patient records
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to support patient diagnosis and treatment
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality throughout all procedures
  • Adhere to facility protocols, infection control standards, and quality assurance initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of recent experience in cardiac ultrasound or echocardiography
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, EKG rhythms, and echocardiography procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced clinical environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a related healthcare or allied health field
  • Previous experience in hospital and outpatient cardiac imaging settings
  • Experience performing stress echo and TEE procedures
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills
