Echocardiographer (Cardiac Sonographer)

Assignment Details

• Job Title: Echocardiographer / Cardiac Sonographer
• Department: 712C Cardiology Services
• Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, variable days
• Shift: Four 10-hour shifts (40 hours/week)
• Duration: 8 weeks
• Local Policy: No local candidates within 50 miles

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Cardiac Sonographer within the specialty
• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Current RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) credential required
• Minimum 5 years of hospital-based echocardiography experience
• Current BCLS/CPR certification
• Intermediate computer skills
• Thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment, operating principles, and echocardiography techniques
• Demonstrated ability to perform all required cardiac ultrasound procedures proficiently

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program
• Registered or registry-eligible Vascular Technologist with at least 2 years of vascular experience
• Congenital echocardiography experience
• Georgia state license or certification, if required
