Job Summary:
This role involves conducting diagnostic procedures to evaluate cardiac structures and hemodynamics, adhering to established protocols. The position encompasses either adult or pediatric echocardiography.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:Primary Responsibilities
- Conducts necessary diagnostic tests, documents patient results, and communicates findings.
- Ensures patient comfort and safety during procedures, notifying physicians of any abnormalities or changes in patient conditions.
- Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and confirms that all equipment is functioning properly; reports any issues.
- Accurately positions patients and selects appropriate anatomical and technical parameters.
- Ensures compliance with standards set by regulatory agencies.
- Submits high-quality images and documentation to PACS promptly, ensuring correct lead markers and patient information.
- Assists in keeping the department organized, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
- Maintains a state of alertness and safety at all times.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education
- Completion of an accredited Echosonography program.
Experience
- No prior experience necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stands and walks.
- Frequently uses vision and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
- Engages in frequent oral communication, utilizing hearing and speech.
- Regularly distinguishes body sounds and responds to alarms or equipment malfunctions.
- Frequently lifts, carries, and pushes/pulls items weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly assists in moving patients.
- Engages in frequent reaching, gripping, and data entry.
- Occasionally lifts and moves objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Occasionally uses vision to identify and differentiate colors.
- Occasionally bends, stoops, squats, twists, and performs repetitive movements with legs and arms.
- Rarely kneels or sits.
Required Professional Licenses and Certifications

- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)

- Or
