The Ecological Restoration Technician position requires adherence to nondiscrimination policies and affirmative action regulations.
- Responsibilities include maintaining a safe work environment, following safety procedures, and demonstrating professionalism when interacting with staff and the public.
- Perform native restoration tasks such as herbicide application (license required), planting native species, erosion control, and prescribed burns.
- Operate small power tools safely and effectively.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma; ability to perform manual labor and operate tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in rugged conditions, and follow instructions.
- Must obtain Illinois Pesticide Operator License (assistance provided).
- Plant identification skills and a passion for natural resources are desirable.
- Reliable transportation required. This entry-level role prefers candidates with experience in conservation or environmental sciences.
