Our Garden Segment is seeking an eCommerce Operations Intern based in Bentonville, AR, with an initial focus on the day-to-day operations of our Amazon business. Reporting to the Vice President of eCommerce Sales, the intern will support order tracking, inventory availability, forecasting and operational reporting. The role will work closely with S&OP, Planning, Customer Service, Operations and Finance, with operational mentorship from the Bentonville Operations team.

 

This paid internship lasts 120 days and offers up to 40 hours per week. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with our eCommerce team and internal and external partners, with responsibilities expanding as they learn our systems and processes. The goal is to transition a successful intern into a full-time eCommerce Operations role, subject to performance and business needs.

 

KEY RESPONSIBIITIES

 

  • Learn Amazon Vendor Central and internal order, inventory and planning processes, and build effective working relationships with the teams supporting Amazon.
  • Maintain an accurate daily tracker of assigned purchase order (PO) exceptions and Amazon cases. Record owners and next steps, follow up through resolution, and promptly escalate issues affecting shipments or availability.
  • Create and maintain a weekly Amazon operations scorecard covering agreed measures such as open orders, shipments, fill rate, on-time in-full (OTIF) delivery, inventory availability, forecast accuracy and chargebacks.
  • Support S&OP and Planning reviews by comparing Amazon sales and order trends with forecasts and inventory. Flag stockout risks and help coordinate readiness for seasonal demand and promotions.
  • Assist with researching shortages, chargebacks and deductions. Organize supporting information for resolution and recommend ways to prevent recurring issues.
  • Complete an agreed process improvement project during the internship. Document the current process, actions taken and results, with guidance from eCommerce Sales and Operations.
  • Progress toward independently handling agreed reporting and daily follow-up tasks, demonstrating accuracy, reliable completion and sound judgment when escalating issues.
  • Provide a brief weekly update on completed work, open issues, results and learnings. Review progress and priorities with the Vice President of eCommerce Sales.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Current student or recent graduate with a background in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, science or a related field, and an interest in eCommerce operations
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including proficiency in Excel and the ability to turn data into clear insights
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and develop relationships across functional groups
  • High initiative and sense of urgency; self-starter; strong and effective multi-tasker
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
