Description

This is an ongoing, as-needed post to create a pool of applicants. As department needs are identified, this pool will be reviewed periodically to obtain potential candidates.

The primary purpose of this position is to sustain teaching performance at appropriate college levels for all assigned student populations, including qualified high school students, to include course loads, instructional technology, instructional materials, and innovative communication delivery in the discipline of Economics. This position will primarily teach on campus, face-to-face, and also use the Learning Management System online to conduct a portion of the class.

Examples of Duties

  • Perform record keeping function in the areas of attendance, student performance in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Review, grade and provide appropriate feedback on student submitted work in a timely fashion
  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans to students in online learning platform as well as at designated instructional location(s)
  • Maintain mastery and currency in the fields of Information Technology to ensure continuity between course instruction and evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure compliance and confidentiality with all policies and procedures of the College, NC Community College System, and applicable State and Federal agencies.

Additionally

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Masters' Degree from Accredited institution with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Economics

Experience

All applicants must provide verifiable and relevant professional experience in a work-place setting OR demonstrated instructional/teaching environment.

Skills and the Know-How

Current knowledge of a variety of Economics topics including use of Microsoft Office applications. The person filling this position must possess strong personal and professional integrity, good interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, database systems, College email and website, and other computer applications associated with the position.
