Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and treatment services for patients presenting with mental health and emotional concerns in the Outpatient Psychiatric Treatment Center, Hospital Emergency Department, and Inpatient Psychiatry Unit
Serve as an effective and collaborative member of the multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic medical record (EMR) documentation for patients receiving psychiatric care.
Support the productivity, operational efficiency, and quality initiatives of the Psychiatric Treatment Center.
Foster positive patient, family, and guest relations by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
Demonstrate the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan, incorporating principles of growth and development into assessment, treatment planning, and patient management
Assess and interpret patient information to identify individualized needs and deliver care in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
Participate in the academic and educational mission of Yale School of Medicine, including the teaching and mentorship of medical residents, fellows, and medical students.

Position Overview
Greenwich Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Psychiatrist to primarily support the Emergency Department and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service. Greenwich Hospital does not maintain an inpatient psychiatric unit, the ED/CL service functions as a consultative psychiatry program. The psychiatrist will provide a full spectrum of psychiatric evaluation and treatment services to a diverse patient population, including:
Patients requiring inpatient psychiatric hospitalization are transferred to psychiatric facilities throughout Connecticut and New York, with transfer coordination supported by Case Management services.
