    Description

    Contract Acute Care Registered Nurse – Emergency Department & Progressive Care

    Location: Sierra Vista, AZ Contract Type: Full-Time Contract Residency Requirement:Candidates must live within 60 miles of the facility to qualify.

    Overview

    We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurses to join our Acute Care team within the Emergency Department (ED) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This contract role offers a fast-paced clinical environment, collaborative team culture, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to acute and complex patients in the ED or PCU.
    • Perform comprehensive assessments, triage, and rapid response interventions.
    • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to facility protocols.
    • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
    • Monitor patient conditions, interpret clinical data, and adjust care plans as needed.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system.
    • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
    • Uphold all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.

    Requirements

    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona.
    • Must live within 60 miles of the facility to qualify for this contract role.
    • Minimum 1–2 years of recent acute care experience in Emergency Department or Progressive Care.
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred).
    • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
    • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • TNCC, PALS, or other specialty certifications.
    • Prior experience in trauma or high-volume ED settings.
    • Experience caring for diverse patient populations and complex medical conditions.

    Schedule & Compensation

    • Full-time contract hours; shifts may include days, nights, or weekends depending on department needs.
    • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and specialty.
    • Opportunity for contract extensions based on performance and facility needs.
