Position Summary

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Editor-in-Chief to lead our editorial operations and shape the voice of Alliances by Alisa Media Relations. As a member of the executive leadership team, the Editor-in-Chief will oversee editorial strategy, content development, publishing standards, and newsroom operations while ensuring all content reflects the company's commitment to excellence, credibility, and innovation.

This role requires a strategic leader with exceptional editorial judgment, strong management skills, and a passion for storytelling that drives engagement and strengthens client visibility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's editorial vision and long-term content strategy.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage editors, writers, contributors, photographers, and freelance journalists.
  • Oversee editorial calendars, production schedules, and publication deadlines.
  • Ensure all content meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, ethics, and brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with the Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Media, and Executive Leadership teams.
  • Direct interviews, feature stories, opinion pieces, executive profiles, and multimedia content.
  • Build relationships with journalists, publishers, media organizations, and industry leaders.
  • Identify emerging trends and develop innovative editorial initiatives.
  • Monitor audience engagement, analytics, and content performance to refine strategy.
  • Manage editorial budgets, vendor relationships, and freelance contributors.
  • Represent the company at conferences, media events, interviews, and public appearances.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Media Studies, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of editorial or publishing experience.
  • At least 5 years of leadership or newsroom management experience.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Deep understanding of digital publishing, SEO, media relations, and audience engagement.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple editorial projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with public relations agencies or media organizations.
  • Knowledge of AP Style and modern editorial best practices.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS), analytics platforms, and AI-assisted editorial tools.
  • Existing relationships within the journalism and media industries are highly desirable.
