POSITION OVERVIEW
Seeking a Social Media Support professional to provide high-quality writing, editing, content preparation, and social media support for university communications.
The ideal candidate will be a strong writer and editor with exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, technical proficiency, and the ability to produce executive-ready copy and communications materials. The candidate should have hands-on experience editing photo and video content for social media, writing and reviewing captions and comments, and ensuring content meets platform-specific specifications and uploading requirements.
This role requires a highly organized and reliable communicator who can collaborate effectively with multiple cross-functional teams while handling important and, at times, sensitive university communications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Write, edit, proofread, and prepare executive-ready copy and communications materials.
- Review written content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, consistency, tone, and accuracy.
- Prepare and edit documents and social media content for publication.
- Write and review social media captions, comments, and other platform-specific copy with meticulous attention to detail.
- Edit photos and videos for use across social media platforms.
- Ensure social media content meets appropriate platform specifications, formatting requirements, file requirements, and uploading standards.
- Support the preparation, organization, and uploading of social media content.
- Review content carefully before publication to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
- Assist with social media communications and content development across university channels.
- Collaborate with communications professionals, university stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams.
- Communicate reliably and professionally with multiple internal teams and stakeholders.
- Handle important and potentially sensitive university communications with discretion and professionalism.
- Support executive-level communications by ensuring written and visual materials are polished and publication-ready.
- Maintain highly organized files, communications materials, content, and related documentation.
- Coordinate multiple assignments and priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong executive presence and professionalism in all communications.
- Perform other related social media, writing, editing, and communications support duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to produce executive-ready copyediting and document preparation.
- Strong executive presence and professional communication skills.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
- Experience editing photo and video content for social media.
- Strong understanding of social media content requirements and specifications.
