Role Snapshot
Step into a hands-on role where precision, pace, and pride in workmanship define your day. As an EDM Machining Technician, you will run multiple machines, complete accurate in-process inspections, and keep production moving while upholding AS9100 quality standards. Your shift flows through machine setups, part loading and unloading, minor maintenance, and meticulous documentation that ensures every component meets aerospace requirements.
A Day in the Life
- Set up and operate EDM equipment; load and unload parts to keep production on schedule.
- Verify quality by performing part inspections and maintaining your own gauges.
- Handle minor maintenance and preventive care to keep machines in top condition.
- Switch over between jobs efficiently as priorities change.
- Document everything: production logs, travelers, non-conformance records, and corrective actions.
- Track materials and scrap accurately to support continuous improvement.
- Keep your cell spotless and organized using 5S principles.
- Follow AS9100 and other applicable quality standards on every run.
- Contribute to team goals and support ongoing process improvements.
- Pitch in on additional duties and projects as needed.
Must-Have Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate multiple machines and meet daily production requirements
- Understanding of machining processes and part drawings
- Proficiency with micrometers, dial calipers, and basic math
- Must meet the ITAR definition of a U.S. Person
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Proven background in machining environments
- Exposure to conventional machining (CNC milling, turning, drilling, lathes)
- Familiarity with EDM machines, grinders, and common inspection tools
- Comfort with basic computer tasks
- Ability to follow written procedures and document work accurately
