POSITION SUMMARY
The Education Coordinator functions in the organization as an educator, consultant, facilitator, researcher, leader, change agent, and resource person for the health center. Knowledge of adult education principles, change management, team building, facilitation, consultation, and learning theory distinguishes this position, supported by competence in research, leadership, consultation, staff development, simulation, and professional growth. Under the direction of the department director, the Education Coordinator assumes a consultant role in strengthening collaborative relationships with health center leadership, physicians, and all health care staff in various settings to improve patient/family outcomes along the care continuum throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
QUALITY
Collaborates and coordinates orientations, in-services, competency validation, risk management remediation, and continuing education/staff development programs.
Facilitates evidence-based educational programs; using adult learning theory implements, and evaluates educational programs to facilitate professional growth, skill development, competency, and attainment of standards of care for staff.
Incorporate nurse-sensitive quality indicators and nurse-driven improvements to patient care into orientation, competency validation and ongoing development.
Administers and manages required certification courses, including course assignment, content development, and compliance monitoring; manages RQI program.
Uses team approach to plan educational activities and solicits feedback from identified stakeholders.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Bachelor Degree from an accredited school of nursing
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Two years clinical or teaching experience
REQUIRED REGISTRATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Current Kansas Registered Nurse license
Applicable Resuscitation and other position-related certifications must be obtained within the timeframe established by SRHC policy.
