    Organization: New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science

    Location: 1801 Mountain Rd NW Albuquerque, NM 87104

    An Off-Campus Work-Study position - MUST have a Work-Study Award

    The Education Outreach Assistant will support the delivery of dynamic science education programs that inspire curiosity and foster a love for the natural world to the public during outreach events. This role works closely with the outreach coordinator and engages diverse audiences across New Mexico. This position works a maximum of 15 hours per week (30 hours per two-week pay period).

    Key Responsibilities:

    Assist in delivering hands-on educational programs/activities at offsite venues such as libraries, schools, community festivals, and other public spaces.

    Interact with participants of all ages, backgrounds, and communities in a friendly, respectful, and enthusiastic manner.

    Facilitate engaging learning experiences related to natural history and science topics.

    Handle delicate fossils, bones and live animals with care and in compliance with museum handling protocols for preservation and safety.
