DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
GBH Education is a department within public media powerhouse GBH, whose mission is to work with communities to research, develop, and distribute quality media to support the learning and development of children and youth. We aim to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people through research-based practices and partnerships with educators, families, and community-based organizations. We serve educators and learners in both in-school (prek-12) and out-of-school (informal) learning settings, and are co-leads of PBS LearningMedia (www.pbslearningmedia.org), public media's flagship service of free digital learning resources
JOB OVERVIEW
The Program & Outreach Coordinator supports the implementation of education and community engagement initiatives at New England Public Media (NEPM). Reporting to the Manager, Education Marketing & Outreach, this position provides administrative, programmatic, and outreach support across a portfolio of media literacy, career exploration, and educator engagement programs serving children, youth, college students, educators, families, and community partners in Western Massachusetts and throughout the Commonwealth.
The Coordinator will assist with program logistics, participant communications, internship coordination, event planning, and outreach activities that help connect learners to careers in media and public media. This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career professional interested in education, youth development, media literacy, and community engagement.
