About the Position
The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) is seeking to employ an Education Program Development Team Lead for the Office of Curriculum and Instruction to serve as a statewide specialist for dyslexia. • Provide oversight and assistance to schools/districts through the development and delivery of technical support and training in the area of dyslexia in support of school-based teams, administrators, staff, and communities. • Provide guidance and professional development related to MTSS processes including intervention selection, data-based decision making, evaluation, and progress monitoring. • Provide oversight for the Mississippi Dyslexia Grant processes, the Dyslexia Scholarship for students attending nonpublic special purpose schools, and the Dyslexia Awareness Training requirement for districts. In addition, this position will collaborate with the offices of Student Financial Services and Accounting in the facilitation of grant and scholarship activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a relevant Master's Degree, may require certification, and 4+ years of experience. Hiring agency additional qualifications: This position requires an individual to have a master's degree in dyslexia therapy, hold a 203 K-12 license in dyslexia, and preferred to be a current Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT). Must have experience as a dyslexia therapist, knowledge of MTSS, and preferred experience as an interventionist. • Master's degree in dyslexia therapy from an accredited 4-year college or university. • Current teaching license with a minimum 4 years successful teaching experience. • Minimum 4 years experience providing evidence-based intervention supports in Tier II and Tier III.

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave
