    EDUCATION PROGRAM MANAGER



    SUMMARY

    The Education Program Manager leads educational programs that help Healing Center guests gain the knowledge, skills, confidence, and support they need to build greater stability and work toward long-term goals. These programs may include GED, ESOL, computer skills, financial education, job readiness, and life skills. The Education Program Manager makes sure each program is welcoming, practical, and responsive to guests’ needs 


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Program Management
    • Develop and oversee educational programs, including financial literacy, job readiness, GED, ESOL, computer skills, and related resources.
    • Manage the Thrive program, including participant recruitment, program scheduling, facilitator coordination, curriculum planning, and ongoing participant support.
    • Identify and recommend new classes and learning opportunities based on guest and community needs.
    • Regularly evaluate programs to ensure they are effective, relevant, and appropriate for guests’ needs and learning abilities.
    • Offer a variety of learning options, including classroom instruction, tutoring, and online learning.
    • Manage the education budget, materials, technology, and other resources.
    • Develop and maintain clear procedures for educational programs. 

    Volunteer Team Leadership
    • Lead, train, and assess volunteer teachers, leaders, mentors, and tutors.
    • Oversee scheduling ensuring volunteer placement is balanced and assigned appropriately according to skills, gifting, and interests.
    • Provide train-the-trainer opportunities and other effective growth and development opportunities for instructors.
    • Intercede regarding issues and concerns.  Escalate issues appropriately to the HC Volunteer Program Manager.

    Professional Development & Marketing
    • Stay current on adult education practices, teaching methods, and learning technology.
    • Participate in relevant training, seminars, and professional networks.
    • Work with the appropriate staff to promote educational programs through the Healing Center’s website, social media, and other outreach efforts.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION    Bachelor’s Degree in education, social services, nonprofit management, workforce development, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered

    EXPERIENCE    Preferred experience with adult basic education, GED, ESOL, digital literacy, financial education, workforce readiness, coaching, and using a database or learning management system for program tracking.
