Job Overview:
As an Educational Aide, you will play a pivotal role in helping shape the minds and hearts of young learners. You will support teachers and students in an engaging and inclusive learning environment that fosters growth, curiosity, and a love for learning. Your experience in special education will empower you to support children with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities and autism. With your passion and commitment to student success, you’ll help cultivate a nurturing atmosphere where every child can thrive.


What you’ll do:

• Assisting the implementation of lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to individual learning styles.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages active participation and collaboration among students.
• Assist with managing classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, educators, and other members of the students' IEP team to ensure each student's needs are being met.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education, literacy, math, and childhood development.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who need additional academic assistance
• Monitor and supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and breaks
• Help prepare and organize instructional materials, resources, and lesson aids
• Reinforce classroom rules and behavioral expectations to maintain a safe learning environment
• Track and document student progress and report observations to lead teachers
• Support students with special needs or individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or coursework in education preferred
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to working with diverse student populations
• Ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively with teachers and staff
• Familiarity with implementing curriculum and lesson planning strategies.
• Experience in behavior management techniques tailored for diverse learners.
• Must pass a background check as required by state and local regulations
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus or willingness to obtain
