The Neenah Joint School District is accepting applications for a full time (1.0 FTE) Educational Assistant - 4K at Washington School of Early Learning, starting with the 2026-27 school year. The start date for this position is August 26, 2026.

Job Details

The 4K Educational Assistant works under the supervision of the Building Principal and a licensed teacher to support student needs through a variety of instructional, clerical, and supervisory tasks. This role involves assisting with lesson planning, providing technical support to the teacher, helping with classroom management, and covering the main office as needed, among other duties. The Educational Assistant is responsible for communicating effectively and respectfully with students, parents, staff, and the community, while ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and professionally. Additionally, the assistant must maintain confidentiality, adhere to District policies and procedures, and handle personnel information appropriately.

Cognitive Requirements:

The role requires the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage interruptions, and maintain focus while ensuring accuracy and timeliness in completing tasks. The Educational Assistant must be able to respond to inquiries in a professional manner while maintaining confidentiality. Sound judgment and initiative are essential for handling various situations effectively.

Skills & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of basic arithmetic, business English, and spelling. The ability to follow oral and written instructions with accuracy is essential. Proficiency in using office equipment, including word processors, personal computers, typewriters, calculators, and copiers, is required. Familiarity with Skyward, Google Docs, Infinite Campus, and Schoology is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with completing schoolwork and support advanced students with enrichment activities.
  • Facilitate small group discussions to enhance student learning.
  • Help with arrival and/or dismissal procedures as needed.
  • Support individual students or small groups with academic and behavioral tasks.
  • Supervise students during lunch and recess as scheduled.
  • Provide emergency care as needed, or as directed by school nursing staff or the building administrator.
  • Operate office equipment such as computers, word processing software, typewriters, calculators, and copiers.
  • Perform basic math calculations when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of accidents and services provided, documenting visits to Infinite Campus.
