Position Summary
Watertown Public Schools is seeking an experienced and results-driven Educational Grant Writer to identify, develop, and secure grant funding opportunities that support district-wide initiatives, programs, and services. This commission-based role is ideal for a self-motivated professional with a strong background in educational grant writing and a proven track record of securing funding from federal, state, local, and private sources.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in an educational setting
- Demonstrated success in securing grant funding from government and/or private sources
- Strong research, writing, and editing skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Familiarity with grant compliance and reporting requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with district priorities and strategic goals
- Collaborate with district and school leadership to gather program information and funding needs
- Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals within required timelines
- Develop compelling narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation for applications
- Track submission deadlines, application status, and reporting requirements
- Maintain a grant calendar and database of opportunities and outcomes
- Ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including documentation and reporting
- Provide guidance to district staff on grant-funded program implementation as needed
Terms of Employment
- This is a commission-based position
- Compensation is based on a mutually agreed-upon percentage of successfully awarded grants
- Payment terms and percentage will be established prior to grant submission
