- Certification or licensure as required by the state or school guidelines
Key Responsibilities: - Facilitate clear communication between students who are Deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and staff
- Interpret classroom lessons, assemblies, and extracurricular activities
- Provide visual or tactile interpreting as needed, adapting as circumstances require
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
- Offer input as part of educational teams to support student success
- Prepare for classroom content in advance to ensure accurate interpretation
- Support the inclusion of all students in both academic and social settings
