The Germantown School District is seeking a highly motivated, student focused, Educational Interpreter who has the ability to interact with students in a patient, positive and sensitive manner in order to facilitate communication for a student with a hearing impairment. The Educational Interpreter will provide a visual language, usually sign language, interpretation of auditory communication for the student. The interpreter will be a language model for the student and may also work with the other children supporting group and peer-to-peer communication and play. Interpretation may occur in a variety of settings beyond the classroom including, but not limited to, field trips, after school programs, assemblies, and other school sponsored events. Other duties may be performed when they do not interfere with interpreting including, but not limited to, academic and / or behavioral support, participation in meetings, and being an active member of the school's educational team.
DPI O020 - Educational Interpreter License and / or DSPS Sign Language Interpreter License.
