Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Special Education provides occupational therapy treatment to eligible students enrolled in the educational programs of the County Office of Education. San Benito COE provides a full range of services designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities throughout the county. Students, ranging in age from birth to age 22 include mild to moderate, moderate to severe, and emotionally disabled. Under the direction of the Director of Special Services, the OT provides assessment, consultation, and educationally related OT services to special needs students and families based upon needs determined through the IFSP or IEP process. The OT is assigned primarily to the Regional Early Start and Pre-School Special Education programs. There is limited involvement with rural schools and districts. The OT also coordinates occupational therapy services with school staff and provides staff development as needed. The occupational therapist s office is housed at the SBCOE Special Education department, but the position does require minimal travel. INTERVIEWS WILL BE SCHEDULED - TBD

Registered with the American Occupational Therapy Association and/or the National Board of Occupational Therapy. School based experience working in educational and special education settings preferred, and/or clinical experience in pediatric therapy with emphasis on developmental disabilities. Experience in working collaboratively with teams and families is required. Possess first aid and CPR training. - BA Degree from accredited college or university with coursework in occupational therapy or related field verified by college transcripts - Valid CA Occupational Therapist License - Valid CA Driver s License
