Math Paraprofessional
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered Math Paraprofessional to support students in both general education and small-group instructional settings. The ideal candidate will assist with academic support, reinforce math instruction, help implement student learning plans, and provide positive coaching to support student success.
Position Details
Position: Math Paraprofessional
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6.25 hours per day
Calendar: 181 days per school year, including days when school is in session and one day prior to the start of the school year
Compensation: Starting salary range of $18.23 - $20.01 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits
Key Responsibilities
The Math Paraprofessional will work under the direction of certified staff to support students academically, socially, and behaviorally. Responsibilities include:
- Providing one-to-one, small-group, and classroom-based academic support, with a particular focus on mathematics.
- Assisting students in understanding and completing math assignments and classroom activities.
- Supporting students within the general education classroom and/or resource room setting.
- Implementing specified Individualized Education Program goals as directed by the Special Education teacher.
- Reinforcing instructional strategies and accommodations identified by teachers and support staff.
- Building positive relationships with students and providing coaching, encouragement, and behavioral support.
- Supporting students in developing academic confidence, problem-solving skills, and appropriate school behaviors.
- Collecting and tracking data regarding student performance, progress, and participation in both resource room and general education settings.
- Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success.
Applicant Requirements
Qualified applicants should possess the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of two years of college credit is preferred.
- Previous experience working with students or young children in a school setting is preferred.
- ParaPro Assessment passing score, if applicable.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning needs.
