Job Description:

Salary: Salary, work year and working conditions will be in accordance with the current contract between the Board of Education and the Teamster Union. (2026/2027 Hourly rate $22.57)

Scheduled Hours: 32.5 hours per week

Reports to: Building Administrator

Date of closure: Accepting applications for the start of the 2026/2027 school year.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with English Learners (EL/ELL) or in a diverse, multilingual environment is preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting students with reading fluency and comprehension.
  • Candidate should hold a Bachelors/Associates degree or 2 years of college credit or pass a State Board of Education adopted paraprofessional assessment, which assesses content knowledge in mathematics, reading and writing and an understanding of how to assist in the instruction of these topics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional support for students who are eligible to receive EL services to support their acquisition of proficiency in listening, reading, speaking and writing.
  • Communicate effectively with the educational team so student needs are supported.
  • Communicate in culturally respectful and sensitive ways with students and families.
  • Work cooperatively with other team members to improve the instructional program.
  • Effectively use computer and technology to support effective instruction and student learning.
  • Evaluate and differentiate student progress and adapt individual programs to meet student needs.
  • Work under the direct supervision of and confer with, a variety of certified staff member: classroom teachers, specialist and administrators.
  • Perform other tasks directly supporting the learning process of students, as designed by the certified staff.
