Educational Paraprofessional Position Registered Behavior Technician

Job Description:

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Ben Bronz Academy - East Hartford, CT

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our collaborative educational team. Working under the direct clinical supervision of a BCBA, you will implement individualized student support and behavior intervention plans, collect accurate data on student progress, and provide direct behavioral support to students with learning disabilities. You will use positive programming and proactive strategies to help students build independence, self-confidence, and a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement Plans: Execute student support and behavior intervention plans designed by the supervising BCBA using positive, proactive strategies.
• Data Collection: Accurately collect, record, graph, and report data on student behavior and skill acquisition to support data-driven decisions.
• Direct Support: Provide 1:1 and small-group support in classrooms and therapy settings, reinforcing appropriate behaviors and teaching replacement skills.
• Collaboration: Assist and coach teachers on implementing plan strategies; participate in team and IEP meetings under BCBA guidance.
• Compliance: Maintain detailed session notes and documentation in full compliance with BACB standards and school policies.
• Ethics & Culture: Foster an inclusive school culture and maintain strict confidentiality per the BACB Ethics Code and CT regulations.

Qualifications

• Current RBT certification in good standing with the BACB.
• High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, ABA, or Special Education preferred.
• Experience working with students with learning or developmental disabilities in school or ABA settings highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of positive behavior support and precise data collection.
• Excellent communication, patience, empathy, and collaboration skills.
• Must pass required background checks and state-mandated trainings.
