POSITION: Special Education Paraeducator

Part-Time: 20 hours per week

Putnam Elementary School is looking for a caring, flexible, and dependable Special Education Paraeducator to join our team! In this vital part-time role, youll support elementary students with diverse learning needs, offering academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assistance primarily within general education classrooms and various school settings.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support elementary students with diverse learning needs, providing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assistance.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and specialists to implement instructional and behavioral plans.
• Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Provide individual and small group support to students as directed by certified staff.
• Adapt to evolving student needs and assist with classroom activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment OR at least 60 college credits from an accredited institution.
• Experience working in a school system is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, showing patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to follow directions from certified staff, maintain a high degree of professionalism, and ensure confidentiality at all times.

START DATE: 2026-2027 School Year

RATE OF PAY: $20.36 - $22.50 per hour * based on contractual requirements
