POSITION: Special Education Paraeducator (STARS Program)
LOCATION OF ASSIGNMENT: East Hampton High School
ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: February 2026
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Works in conjunction with certified staff to support the individual needs of students in the Supportive Teaching for At Risk Students (STARS) program. Paraeducator staff will work in conjunction with the special education teacher, BCBA, and School Psychologist to support students who may exhibit challenging behaviors due to lacking the skills of flexibility, adaptability, frustration tolerance, and problem solving.
Pay Range: $22.52-$30.23 depending on experience. Rate includes hourly differential for STARS.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability and desire to work with students with emotional and behavior concerns Knowledge of math, reading, and writing instruction Ability to document students progress, collect, and maintain student data Excellent communication skills Ability to be a team player
Two-year associates degree or equivalent. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable and appropriate.
