**Position Overview** We are seeking qualified **Educational Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs)** to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students in school-based settings. The SLI facilitates effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers to ensure equal access to classroom instruction, academic activities, and school programs. This posting supports **multiple current and future openings** across various school districts and surrounding areas. Applicants may be considered for immediate placements or added to our active talent pool for upcoming school-based SLI opportunities. Assignments may include **1:1 student support** , small-group instruction, and participation in classroom and school-related activities. **Responsibilities** + Interpret spoken English into **American Sign Language (ASL)** and ASL into spoken English + Support student access to classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities + Adapt interpreting methods to meet individual student and educational needs + Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and special education teams + Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional, ethical, and educational standards **Minimum Qualifications** + Proficiency in **American Sign Language (ASL)** + Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or a related field (preferred) + Required **state and/or educational interpreter certification** based on assignment + **RID certification** as applicable per state regulations or client requirements + Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements + Must be at least **18 years of age** _Additional requirements (such as background checks, fingerprinting, health screenings, CPR certification, or driving eligibility) may apply depending on assignment and state regulations._ **Position Details (May Vary by Assignment)** + School-based educational environments (elementary, middle, or high school) + **Full-time and part-time** opportunities available + Contract lengths vary by district and student needs + Client or school interviews may be required **Compensation** + **Pay Range:** Approximately **$35-$65 per hour** , depending on location, experience, certifications, and assignment details **Travel Opportunities** We offer **travel packages** for placements located **50 miles or more** from a candidate's home location.
