    Description

    The Oak Ridge School in Sandwich, a grades 3-6 school, is looking for two (2) Educational Support Professionals (ESPs) to support students receiving special education services 1:1, in classrooms, in small groups and/or in a subseparate classroom.

    This is a full-time position working 6.5 hours per day.

    QUALITIES / ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS:

    • Experience working with special education students is preferred.
    • Associate degree preferred but not required.
    • Organization, patience, and a sense of humor required.

    REPORTS TO:

    Building Principal/Assistant Principal/Supervisor

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Appointed on an annual basis

    WORK YEAR: 183 days

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

    • Work cooperatively with the teachers, supervisors, and additional ESPs.
    • Support students individually or in small groups during classroom instruction.
    • Provide direct instruction of new material under the supervision of a teacher, if necessary.
    • Provide academic, social, and behavioral assistance in classrooms settings.
    • Assist with duties as required by the building principal and teacher.
    • Participate in district-assigned professional development.

    COMPENSATION: Per the ESP Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the Sandwich website.
