PVPA prepares all of our students for higher education by employing a rigorous, standards-based curriculum in a nurturing and collaborative environment.

We work with students to assume responsibility, not avoid it. The Academic Support Department contributes to these goals by:

  • establishing a positive learning environment
  • identifying and implementing services that address each student's individual learning style, strengths, and challenges
  • fostering feelings of empowerment that help students advocate on their own behalf and assume responsibility for their own learning.

PVPA has an opportunity for a Special Education Team Leader (ETL) for the 2026-2027 school year. We are currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a full-time position managing the IEP process. Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, you will be responsible for:

  • Serving as chairperson of IEP Team meetings
  • Completing mandatory documentation paperwork from Team meetings
  • Development/writing/review of Individualized Educational Plans
  • Regular communication and collaboration with staff /administration involved in the Team process
  • Collaborate with the special education liaisons, guidance counselors, and families to develop consents for evaluations based on the individual case
  • Collaborate with personnel in the sending districts to help transition students with IEPs into PVPA
  • Engage and partner with families involved in the IEP Team process
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with general education staff.
  • Routine collaboration with Special Education support staff
  • Maintain routine contact with the Student Services Office
  • Attend school-wide trainings and Special Education department meetings

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Special Education certification or similar certification
  • Experience developing Individualized Educational Plans
  • Knowledge and experience with transition planning
  • Experience with culturally diverse populations
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and facilitation skills
  • Prior experience working with secondary students is desirable
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with and implementing the special education evaluation process, parents' rights, and current special education law and regulations

Other Information/Instructions:

Salary Range: $66,836 - $68,000 annually with potential for a bonus at the end of the fiscal year.

2026-2027 school year consists of 180 school days plus 5 professional development/curriculum work days and a thirty-five-hour work week.
