POSITION: Educational Technology Coach - Multiple Positions (FT - 12 month)

An Educational Technology Coach models and facilitates the effective integration of educational technology to enhance teaching and learning. The Educational Technology Coach partners with district educators and leaders to design and implement lessons, learning experiences, and instructional practices that effectively integrate technology and align with district goals. The Educational Technology Coach also facilitates regional professional learning workshops, sharing innovative practices, emerging technologies, and effective instructional strategies with educators across the region.

ASSIGNMENT: Model Schools Program

BUILDING: Instructional Support Services @ Sequoya, Holtsville, NY

LOCATION: In-Person at Various Locations in Eastern Suffolk County, NY

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• NYS Teaching Certification (Permanent or Professional) OR
• Educational Technology Specialist Initial or Professional Certification

Preferred Background Knowledge:

• Proficient with: Microsoft, Google, Nearpod, Coding software, Robotics, AR & VR, Macs, PCs, Chromebook, Tablets, etc.
• Knowledge of the ISTE and New York State Learning Standards including the Computer Science & Digital Fluency Standards
• Knowledge and experience utilizing the SAMR, TPACK, TIM, or equivalent Ed Tech frameworks
• Familiarity with Federal, State and local laws (CIPA, COPPA, FERPA, DASA, Ed Law 2d) to safeguard student data privacy and security when using technology in the classroom and prohibit discrimination and harassment
• Familiarity with Internet safety instruction

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and deliver professional learning opportunities for teachers and administrators across multiple school districts, focusing on best practices in instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning
• Collaborative spirit with an ability to work across multiple levels and work-flows within an organization
• Support of a welcoming and affirming environment and treats ALL with respect and dignity
• Ability to integrate technologies into the classroom/learning environment
• Eager to learn new technologies
• Conviction to support special education students and English Language Learners
• Strong presentation and communication skills for a variety of student, adult, and community audiences
• Relationship builder who can work with teachers and administrators across multiple sites

START DATE: As soon as possible

SALARY: $63,074.00 (pending SDEV contract negotiations)
