A large healthcare organization is seeking an experienced EEO Investigator to support its Office of Legal Affairs by conducting investigations into workplace discrimination, harassment, and other employment-related complaints. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws while promoting a fair and respectful workplace environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong investigative, analytical, and communication skills, along with experience handling Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) matters in a complex organizational setting. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and traveling to various facilities throughout New York City as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations of internal complaints involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other workplace misconduct.
- Investigate claims of sexual harassment and unlawful employment discrimination.
- Gather, analyze, and evaluate evidence, including witness interviews, documentation, and other relevant information.
- Prepare detailed investigative reports, findings, and recommendations.
- Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws and regulations.
- Provide an internal avenue for the investigation and resolution of employee complaints.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout the investigative process.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Legal Affairs, and leadership regarding investigative findings and recommendations.
- Assist with special projects and additional assignments as directed by the Office of Legal Affairs.
- Travel to healthcare facilities throughout New York City to provide support and conduct investigations as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience conducting EEO-related investigations.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws.
- Experience investigating workplace discrimination, harassment, and employee relations matters.
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly synthesize information, identify critical issues, and formulate recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively navigate a large organizational structure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare or hospital environment.
- Experience working within healthcare organizations is preferred.
