Maintenance Technician - Mechanic Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician Mechanic performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical systems and equipment.
Duties and Essential Job Functions
Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs plant equipment, including: • Hydraulic pneumatic steam-operated circuits • Electrical 24v to 480v 3 phase and machinery
Develops, performs, and maintains a preventative maintenance program for all equipment and systems.
Installs and moves equipment and systems using forklifts, hoists, etc.
Troubleshoots sources of equipment problems by observing mechanical and electrical equipment and component devices in the operation, using precision measuring and testing instruments, etc.
Will not perform any electrical repairs.
Inspects used parts to ensure safe production.
Repairs and replaces defective parts.
Follows the lock out/tag out program.
Records all repairs and maintenance activities.
Completes monthly EHS inspections.
Serves as 5S Facilitator, implementing the 5S Disciplines throughout the plant, including monthly 5S audits.
Performs the duties to maintain our EPS recycling program, which includes operating the EPS grinder and stacking compressed EPS for shipping. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the recycling area.
Maintains the maintenance shop with cleanliness and organization consistent with 5S standard.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required. A 2-year technical degree related to the maintenance of mechanical equipment is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician mechanic in a manufacturing maintenance environment is required.
Experience with 3 phase electrical and experience trouble shooting and repairing control circuits is required.
Thorough knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and manufacturing equipment.
Working knowledge of OSHA and general maintenance procedures is required.
Ability to obtain and successfully complete Arc Flash Training.
