EFP - CNC Operator

The CNC Operator supports production operations by setting up and operating CNC equipment, inspecting completed parts, and assisting with general production and material-handling activities. This position operates Vertical Mill CNC and Gantry Horizontal Mill machines and uses drawings, measuring instruments, hand tools, and production instructions to produce parts that meet established quality requirements. Training may be provided to candidates who demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Set up and operate Vertical Mill CNC and Gantry Horizontal Mill machines to produce parts according to specifications.
• Prepare tooling, fixtures, materials, workpieces, and machine parameters for assigned production work.
• Review blueprints, manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and production specifications before beginning work.
• Monitor equipment during operation and communicate unusual machine conditions, quality concerns, tooling issues, or production delays to the supervisor.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, gauges, pins, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Use hand tools to support fabrication and assembly operations.
• Follow production schedules and communicate issues that could affect quality, safety, and/or timely completion of work.
• Safely operate a forklift or other material-handling equipment after completing required training and certification.
• Maintain assigned equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, efficiency, and workflow.
• Perform other related duties assigned based on production needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to work the assigned schedule.
• Mechanical aptitude and an interest in manufacturing processes.
• Basic experience using common hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate machine, material, safety, and quality concerns promptly.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a production team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• CNC operation and/or setup experience.
• Experience with precision measuring tools.
• Blueprint reading experience.
• Forklift experience or willingness to become certified.

PHYSICAL/SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• Requires working in a manufacturing environment with frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 25lbs as needed.
• Safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed/safety shoes are required in designated areas.
• Requires exibility in work schedule to support production demands.
