The group youll be a part of: The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

The impact youll make: The Site EHS professional supports semiconductor equipment move-in, installation, hook-up, ramp, and transition to volume operations. This role leads the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program on site to achieve on-time delivery with zero incidents and zero rework. You will partner closely with Field Service, Installation, Production supporters, contractors, and the customers ISEPERC to build and run a robust, compliant on-site EHS system.

What youll do:

  • Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Field Risk Control: Lead, review permits for hot work, working at height, confined space, lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical work (NFPA 70E), lifting/rigging, and heavy moves; chemical/toxic/pyrophoric gases, and SIMOPs (simultaneous operations). Conduct daily walkthroughs and JHA/JSA risk assessments; support after-hours/holiday critical tasks on site or remotely as needed.
  • Pre-Task / Pre-Start EHS Design Reviews: Review equipment introduction and hook-up scope, including exhaust/abatement, wastewater, chemical, and specialty gas systems (e.g., scrubbers, CDA, vacuum).
  • On-site Management of Change: Own Management of Change to prevent design gaps that drive rework; coordinate with customer ISEPERC and Lam EHS team.
  • Contractor Management and Site Access Control: Verify supplier EHS capability, training, and tool/equipment compliance; reinforce Stop-Work Authority culture and perform routine audits.
  • Incident Notification, Investigation, and Corrective Actions: Initiate immediate response, lead root-cause analysis (5-Why), and drive CAPA closure; capture and act on near misses for behavioral and systemic prevention.
  • Training and Culture: Deliver new-hire/contractor EHS onboarding, toolbox talks, and focused campaigns (LOTO, NFPA 70E); promote Behavior-Based Safety.
  • Metrics and Governance: Define and track leading/lagging indicators through Lam EHS systems that support on-time, zero-rework project KPIs.
  • Audits and Customer Requirements: Generate and review site EHS reports on a regular cadence; update site status and present risk-based solutions/mitigations to the Site Lead and Field Service Managers. Consolidate customer audit outcomes and upcoming activities to proactively address emerging risks. Follow customer 6S and Lam requests to perform Lam internal onsite audit. Prepare for and host customer audits, gathering objective evidence.

Who we are looking for:

  • 2-6 years of EHS experience, preferably in semiconductor fabs, high-tech construction, or large equipment installation projects.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910/1926, LOTO, working at height, machinery, rigging, chemicals, and specialty gases; NFPA 70E, RCRA hazardous waste, and DOT hazardous materials.
  • Hands-on practice with contractor management, SIMOPs (Simultaneous Operations) coordination, and PTW (Permit to Work) systems.
  • Strong field communication, cross-functional collaboration, emergency response, and problem-solving skills.
  • Open to support 24/7 on-call coverage and travel as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related technical field.
  • Professional certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR.
  • Familiarity with Arizona/Maricopa requirements (ADOSH, ADEQ, MCAQD) and customer standards.
  • Proven on-site leadership for semiconductor equipment move-in and installation in partnership with Field Service, Engineering, and Facilities to eliminate rework.
  • HAZWOPER 40-hour (29 CFR 1910.120) with annual 8-hour refresher.
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety training (arc flash and shock risk assessment, PPE selection, and electrical safe work practices).
  • OSHA 511 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry.
