This is an hourly position with Local 475, rate of pay is $32.31/hr
Job Responsibilities:
Waste management
Proper containment, labeling, staging, and storage of various hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., RCRA)
Prepare internal and external reports
Industrial Wastewater
Operate and maintain the on-site wastewater treatment system, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with regulatory discharge limits
Perform and record daily system checks, flow rates, pH levels, and chemical dosing
Perform routine preventative maintenance on wastewater treatment systems. Pumps, valves. Sensors, and associated equipment to ensure optimal operation and prevent breakdowns
Maintain equipment logs, service records, and maintenance schedules according to manufacturer guidelines and internal procedures
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
Assist with Velocity Hazard ID closures and follow up
Participate as EHS representative in TPM, CI, and Kaizen events
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to lift and work in environments with exposure to industrial chemicals, fumes, and noise
Required to wear PPE including gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, and protective clothing
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions
Minimum Position Requirements:
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum lift waist to shoulder level - 30 pounds
Minimum pull - 40 pounds
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to moderate cold and moderate heat. Exposure to the production facility includes loud noise, fumes, and moving equipment.
