SUMMARY OF JOB:

The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Coordinator manages and maintains digital patient records for the Redeemer Medical Group. The role ensures the accuracy, security, and accessibility of EMR systems.  Will organize and update the EMR systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA, and provide support to medical staff in accessing and using the records efficiently.

The EHR Coordinator will provide support, formal and informal training, and monitoring of medical staff on the proper use of the EHR application and other office-based software applications and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

The primary goal is to become a subject matter expert in athenahealth electronic health record and practice management. The role requires expertise in writing and accessing wRVU productivity reports from EMR system as well as registration, scheduling and clinical aspects of the EHR software utilized by office staff and providers. In addition, data security practices are essential to help ensure the smooth flow of medical information. 

In addition, this position is responsible for the communication of best practices, standardization of processes and use of systems to ensure excellence in service and financial success.  Monitoring, observing, auditing, and reporting to management are key aspects of the position as well as communicating and feedback for continuous improvement of performance. The Coordinator will lead all HRPAS Quality initiatives including the development of workflows, needed changes and updates in the EHR system and reporting on Quality goals by enterprise and practice.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable advance training, education or certification in healthcare information systems.
  • five years’ experience in health care setting using clinical software applications
  • Recent experience with Athena software preferred
  • Experience teaching/training one-on-one and in small group settings
  • Ability to develop training modules and workflow curriculum based on changing standards in the EHR setting and updated standards.
  • Experience working with cross-functional groups and teams
  • Excellent time management, problem solving and attention to detail skills
  • Experience improving workflows and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively share knowledge and best practices
  • Positive and persuasive communication skills to motivate and encourage others
  • Familiarity with medical terminology 
  • Proven knowledge of outpatient medical recording systems, such as Soarian Clinicals, APACS, ASOBYN, Mosaic, and Meditech. Excellent communication, written and verbal, skills
  • Proven ability to lead others and come to a consensus on various issues
  • Ability to effectively train and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Proven understanding of current CMS Quality incentives, including MACRA/MIPS, eCQM workflows, etc.
