Job Description

About the Role

As an EHS Coordinator at Picoma, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and managing the Environmental, Health, and Safety Program for our Cambridge, OH facility. This position requires an assertive, decisive action-taker with strong leadership qualities who can coach, guide, and support the management team in fostering a culture of safety. You will directly contribute to Zekelman’s commitment to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all employees by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, driving safety initiatives, and reducing risk across operations.

You will collaborate with facility leadership, frontline supervisors, and employees to maintain high safety and environmental standards. This is a full-time onsite role located in Cambridge, OH.

What You’ll Do

  • Provides leadership and coaching on all environmental, health, and safety matters, with emphasis on front-line supervision.

  • Develops and maintains comprehensive EHS programs and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.

  • Conducts regular site inspections to identify hazards, verify compliance, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Delivers EHS orientation and ongoing training to new hires and personnel to ensure awareness and safe practices.

  • Investigates accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents; prepares detailed reports; and develops corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.

  • Stays current on OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.

  • Ensures proper availability, maintenance, and use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Develops and updates Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all positions within the facility.

  • Provides regular progress updates through Intelex, email, and other reporting methods.

  • Assists in EHS-related matters across other Zekelman facilities as needed.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience in environmental health and safety, construction safety, or a related role, preferably in manufacturing or construction.

  • Associate’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and industry hazards.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and engage diverse teams.

  • Proficient in safety management software (e.g., EHS Insight or similar).

  • Assertive, decisive, and detail-oriented, with a commitment to promoting a proactive EHS culture.

  • OSHA 30-hour or 10-hour certification and First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

  • Physical ability to work in a plant environment, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.

  • Regular, full-time onsite attendance required.
