EHS Coordinator

Contract Length: 3 Months
Location: North Hollywood, CA
Work Setup: On-site

Join a collaborative Environmental, Health & Safety team supporting daily operations at our North Hollywood manufacturing facility. The EHS Coordinator is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining Cal/OSHA compliance, supporting facility safety programs, and partnering with employees to promote a safe working environment.

EHS Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Support the Site Sr. EHS Engineer in implementing and maintaining site EHS programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA, California workplace safety regulations, and applicable environmental requirements.
  • Implement and maintain Cal/OSHA-required programs, including:
    • Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
    • Hazard Communication
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • Machine Guarding
    • PPE Assessments
    • Heat Illness Prevention
    • Emergency Action Plans
    • Fire Prevention
    • Powered Industrial Truck Safety
    • Fall Protection
    • Confined Space
    • Electrical Safety
    • Ergonomics
    • Hearing Conservation
    • Respiratory Protection
    • Contractor Safety
  • Conduct routine facility inspections, identify hazards, and track corrective actions through completion.
  • Support maintenance activities, equipment moves, contractor work, chemical handling, and other non-routine operations.
  • Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, PPE assessments, safe work procedures, and safety documentation.
  • Support onboarding and EHS orientation for new employees.
  • Develop, update, and deliver EHS and safety training.
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, spills, and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as a program focal point for safety and environmental issues.
  • Provide EHS input for equipment, facility, and operational design changes.
  • Support hazardous waste, universal waste, recycling, SDS management, chemical inventory, spill response readiness, emergency response planning, Management of Change (MOC), operational readiness reviews, and periodic safety audits.

EHS Coordinator Qualifications

Required

  • 5 6 years of hands-on Environmental, Health & Safety experience.
  • Direct, hands-on experience implementing and maintaining Cal/OSHA programs at a California facility is required. General OSHA experience alone is not sufficient.
  • Experience conducting facility inspections, incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action management, and employee safety training.
  • Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, PPE assessments, and industrial safety programs.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or industrial facility experience.
  • Experience supporting hazardous waste management and chemical safety programs.
