EHS Director

Location: Cincinnati, OH Area (On-site)

Salary Range: $120,000 – $160,000 + Benefits

Job Summary

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a strategic and hands-on EHS Director to oversee environmental, health, and safety initiatives for their operations. This role is pivotal in fostering a "safety-first" culture while ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise in high-speed manufacturing environments and the leadership acumen to drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred fields include Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. (Master’s degree is a plus).

• Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.

• Industry Focus: Strong preference for candidates with Food & Beverage or high-speed consumer goods (CPG) manufacturing experience.

• Management: Proven track record of at least 5 years in a leadership or senior management role, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior executives.

• Process Oversight: Experience managing complex EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and specialized manufacturing risks such as ammonia refrigeration, dust explosion hazards, or chemical processing.

• Specific Skills: Deep knowledge of OSHA (General Industry), EPA, and DOT regulations. Expertise in ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and behavior-based safety (BBS) programs.

• Certifications: Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) are highly preferred.
