COUNTY OF BUCKS\n \nJOB TITLE:\n \nEHS Representative\n \nJOB CODE:\n \n0023\n \nDEPARTMENT:\n \nEmergency Health Services\n \nUNION: \n \n00\n \nFLSA STATUS:\n \nNon-Exempt \n \nGRADE:\n \n00\n \nPOSITION SUMMARY: \n \nThe Field Representative serves as a liaison between the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of EMS (BEMS), Bucks County Emergency Health Services, EMS agencies, and Medical Command Facilities. Operations are guided by County requirements and general guidelines established by Federal, State, and County authorities related to EMS licensure, compliance, and system improvements. The Field Representative ensures proper processing of certification applications, conducts inspections, assists with investigations, and facilitates coordination among EMS agencies, municipal leaders, medical command facilities, and the Bucks County Communications Center. Reports directly to the Deputy Director of Emergency Health Services or designee in the execution of all duties.\n \nThis position is designated as Essential Personnel. Employees in this role are required to report to work as scheduled and remain on duty as necessary to support operations, including during emergency situations or periods of inclement weather when Bucks County offices may be closed.\n \nEmployees designated as Essential Personnel may be required to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, in order to meet operational needs.\n \nWeekly on-call rotation\n \nSome Travel maybe required\n \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n \nRegulatory and Compliance\n\n Process all EMS agency and medical command facility certification applications, working in conjunction with applying agencies, facilities, and BEMS.\n Review all applications as required by applicable laws and BEMS.\n Conduct inspections of EMS agency vehicles, rescue service vehicles, and medical command facilities as required by applicable laws and BEMS.\n Distribute licensure certificates and decals to agencies following BEMS approval of applications and inspection documentation.\n Assist with BEMS-approved investigations.\n \nLiaison and Representation\n\n Serve as Regional EMS Office liaison between medical command and receiving facilities.\n Serve as Regional EMS Office liaison to the Bucks County Communications Center for non-Quality Assurance issues.\n Participate in Bucks County Health Council meetings, when needed.\n Serve on committees pertinent to EMS as assigned by the Deputy Director or designee.\n Assist Bucks County Emergency Management as needed/requested\n \nOperational Support\n\n Manage mass casualty/care assets.\n Assist the Education Coordinator with the distribution of training equipment, classes, and state certification exams as needed.\n Assist the Training and Recruitment Coordinator with educational and training initiatives, as well as recruitment events, as needed.\n Provide staffing support for the Bucks County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during activations, drills, or as requested.\n Assist Bucks County Emergency Management and support special operations as requested.\n \nWork Conditions\n\n May be required to work non-traditional schedules, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.\n Position responsibilities may include office, warehouse, educational, or field environments.\n Other duties may be assigned.\n \nAdditional Responsibilities\n\n Always maintain confidentiality of records without personal bias.\n Maintain complete objectivity and impartiality regardless of the individual, agency, hospital, facility, patient, or any other factor.\n Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and impartiality in all interactions, decisions, and communications.\n Infraction of any of the above requirements will be considered extreme and may result in disciplinary action and/or termination.\n Position is classified as Essential Personnel; must report to work when the county is closed due to any conditions as requested.\n Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, in order to meet operational needs when requested.\n \nQualifications Required:\n \nTo successfully perform this role, an individual must be able to carry out all essential duties. The qualifications below reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
